We’re back home this week, catching up on a mountain of work while the truck’s still in the shop. It’s not exactly how we planned to spend November, but honestly, the cooler temps, sunny days, and slower pace have been a nice change of rhythm.
We finally released our Oktoberfest video, it might be one of the most fun trips we’ve ever filmed. Between the music, the chaos, and the amount of pretzels consumed, it reminded us why we love filming these kinds of experiences. It’s one thing to talk about a place, but it’s another to feel the energy of it and Oktoberfest is pure energy.
We also got to spend Halloween at home for the first time in a while. We’re not huge Halloween people, but Kramer loved every second of it. He wore his little sombrero proudly while we handed out candy to the neighborhood kids and caught up with neighbors we hadn’t seen in months. After so much time on the road, it felt good to have a night that was simple and familiar.
Now that it’s November, we’re asking the real question: is it officially Christmas season yet? The decorations are already showing up everywhere, and we’re definitely not complaining. We might hold off on the tree for a bit, but the Christmas music may have already started to find its way into the house.

✈️ Flights We’d Text to Friends
Here are a few that caught our eye this week:
- Portland → Osaka for $458, 69% off (normally $1,525+). An easy one-stop route with prices lower than we’ve seen in months.
-
Boston → Cluj-Napoca for $394, 60% off (normally $1,000+). A great chance to explore Transylvania, walk through old towns, and see where the Dracula stories began.
- Chattanooga → Tokyo for $806, 47% off (normally $1,525+). A big trip from our small city, but one that’s absolutely worth it. Swap southern comfort for sushi, bright lights, and a week of exploring Japan.
- New York City → Tokyo for $700, 40% off (normally $1,170+). One-stop each way on Alaska Airlines.
- Denver → Hong Kong for $633, 53% off (normally $1,355+). Flights to Asia are finally dropping again, and Hong Kong is worth every mile.
- Minneapolis → Athens for $500, 41% off (normally $850+). A solid Delta deal to Greece.
- Atlanta → Chennai for $2,636, 32% off (normally $3,900+). A rare business class deal to India on Etihad. Flat seats, real meals, and a full night’s rest before you land in Chennai.
- Atlanta → Edmonton for $158, 71% off (normally $550+). Roundtrip on WestJet for less than the price of a nice dinner out. Ski season in Alberta is calling.
We find all of these through Going. It is worth setting up alerts for your home airport. Most of these deals won't last long, so if one catches your eye, don't sit on it.

📍Worth Sharing
A few things we bookmarked this week
- Houston Airport Waits Stretch Past 3 Hours Long lines at TSA checkpoints in Houston have been testing travelers’ patience this week, with reports of wait times topping three hours. The slowdown comes as staffing shortages collide with the ongoing government shutdown, causing ripple effects across U.S. airports.
- Daybright Chick-fil-A’s new coffeehouse concept, just opened outside Atlanta. It’s a drink-first spot serving coffee, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices with a dual drive-thru and a cozy sit-down area.
- Christmas in the Scottish Highlands looks straight out of a storybook. Snow on the hills, warm lights through stone villages, and that kind of quiet that makes you want to stay all winter.
-
If you’re heading to London this holiday season, you can catch Home Alone in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall with a live orchestra performing the full score.
- Topo Designs is giving 15% off right now with code HONEY15. It’s one of Chris’s favorite brands for simple, durable travel clothes that last.
- Our friends Josh and Lisa shared a video that hit hard for us. It’s honest, raw, and probably one of the most real looks we’ve seen at what it means to build a life on YouTube.
