Hey friend,
It's 3 AM in Chattanooga and we're wide awake.
There's a severe thunderstorm rolling through right now, tornado warnings included, and Sara doesn't mess around with tornado weather. Her hometown got hit by one years ago. So we're up. Kramer is curled between us on the couch, unbothered, because he has never once read a weather alert in his life.
You might have noticed we didn't send a Field Notes last week and we didn't update y'all on our Chick-fil-A headquarters visit.
We sat on the famous red couch (the springs in the middle could use a little more support, which I think just means they've hosted a lot of people and heard a lot of good stories). We gave a talk about how ordinary moments create extraordinary impact. About paying attention to what's right in front of you instead of always chasing something bigger.
And then Chick-fil-A showed us our own talk. Not from a stage. Just in the way they treated us. Hula hoops sitting in the dining area for no reason other than to remind people to have fun. 73 wooded acres with nature trails and a lake. Every person we met was genuinely present in a way that's hard to describe and impossible to fake.
When we posted about it, so many of you wrote in. Encouragement, excitement, people saying they were proud of us. We don't take that lightly. This community you've built around what we do, it means more than we know how to say. So thank you for that.
We're heading to Scottsdale this week to work with Experience Scottsdale on not one but two videos. Still pinching ourselves that this is our job. If you've been to Scottsdale and have recommendations, hit reply and tell us where to go.

The DHS shutdown is now a month old, and TSA agents just missed their first full paycheck. If you're flying anytime soon, especially during spring break, give yourself way more time than usual.
Some airports have seen 3-hour security lines. Global Entry is back up, and TSA PreCheck is still running. Check your airport's social media the morning of your flight for real-time wait updates.

βWe shared this one last week and the response has been really something. If you haven't watched it yet, here's what you're getting into: we drove over from Chattanooga and spent 24 hours eating and exploring a city that's been through it. We met business owners who rebuilt from nothing, ate food that had no business being that good for a Tuesday afternoon, and left wondering why we don't go more often when it's two hours away.
Asheville doesn't need your sympathy. It needs your appetite.

βοΈ Flights Weβd Text to Friends
Here are a few that caught our eye this week:
- βAtlanta β Frankfurt for $1,088 β 40% off (normally $1,820+). Premium Economy to Europe. Wider seat, actual meals, and a foot rest. Even if Frankfurt isn't your final stop, it's a great jumping off point. Price lasts 2-3 days.
- βBoston β Oslo for $425 β 46% off (normally $800+). Icelandair routing through Reykjavik, which means you can tack on a free stopover in Iceland if you're feeling ambitious. Price lasts 2-3 days.
- βNew York City β St. Thomas (USVI) for $241 β 46% off (normally $450+). Nonstop on American. No passport needed, just sunscreen and a loose itinerary. Price lasts 1-2 days.
- βNashville β Santiago, Chile for $3,466 β 28% off (normally $4,835+). Lie-flat Delta One Suites for the long haul. Business class deals to South America are rare, and this one includes the domestic legs in first. Price lasts 2-3 days.
- βNashville β St. Maarten for $371 β 38% off (normally $600+). Two countries on one island, planes landing close enough to feel the jet wash, and beaches that put the usual Caribbean suspects to shame. Price lasts 1-2 days.
- βSeattle β Belize City for $398 β 41% off (normally $680+). Jungle ruins, snorkeling the barrier reef, and rice and beans that fix everything. Price lasts 1-2 days.
Is there a city you wish we would feature for flights? Email us back and we'll put it in the next email.
We find all of these through Going. It is worth setting up alerts for your home airport. Most of these deals won't last long, so if one catches your eye, don't sit on it.

πWorth Sharing
A few things we bookmarked this week:
- βAustrian bailiff boards a Ryanair 737 and slaps a seizure sticker on it β Ryanair refused to pay a passenger about $1,182 after a 13-hour delay. A court bailiff walked onto the plane in Linz, Austria, tried to collect cash from the pilot, and when the crew couldn't pay (Ryanair flights are cashless), he stuck a judicial seizure notice on the cabin wall. The plane could have legally been auctioned off. Ryanair paid up three days later.
- βAmerican Airlines offered $4,000 per seat on an oversold Aspen flight β The people who took the money turned out to be the smart ones. The flight diverted to Grand Junction and everyone else finished the trip on a bus.
- βTSA lines are hitting 3+ hours at some airports this spring break β The DHS shutdown means TSA agents are working without pay, call-outs are climbing, and airports like Houston Hobby are telling people to arrive 4-5 hours early. If you're flying in the next few weeks, build in extra time.
- βDelta launching its biggest transatlantic schedule ever for summer 2026 β Seven new European routes from Boston, NYC, and Seattle. United is also adding nonstop service to Split, Croatia and Santiago de Compostela, Spain from Newark. More options for getting across the pond this summer.
- βEurope's new ETIAS travel authorization is coming late 2026 β If you're a US traveler heading to Europe, you'll soon need pre-approval before entering the Schengen Area. It's not a visa, it's more like the UK's ETA. Valid for three years, covers stays up to 90 days. Worth knowing if you're planning a 2027 trip.
